Our first Training Programme at Sam’s Village took place in May 2017 which was for 98 local based committee members and focused on pro-activity in the community.
Since 2018 we have offered residential courses primarily for vulnerable adults in our local area. Through these courses we hope to help the people of rural Malawi to help themselves in a sustainable way. We were delighted to become International Partners with UNESCO who have funded bursaries over 2 years to train 200 marginalized people in different vocational skills. We specifically focused on a minimum of 50% women attendance. We have followed the Skills and Technical Education Programme (STEP).
Sam’s Village offers courses on Carpentry, Tailoring, Solar, Mechanics and Basic Electronics, with others to follow. The accredited training has been delivered by the Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) and has been organised in conjunction with the local communities.
